I have decided that I am going to try it out and just wondered if other people do it. I think it might prove cheaper overall rather than just darting up to the local shop like I do for something nearly every day, but I am mainly doing it to save all the carrying, gonna try buying for a fortnight at a time and see how that goes.

We have a wonderful grocery store near us that will deliver an order for $10. That's such a bargain imho! I made an ordering form with all the things I usually use, like certain brands, sizes etc, then mark off on the list how many I need. I fax it over and they shop for me! They pack, bag and then drive it over to the house and bring it inside! What a deal for ten bucks lol... I especially love to do that at the holidays, when everything weighs so much! I've noticed myself going to another grocers every day lately, and it's costing an arm and a leg, because you always pick up something unplanned when you're there. I'm rethinking my methods too...

No. I go to the store about once a week or so and just make sure to get enough to get by. I also only live about 4 blocks from the grocery store :hahahaha

You are right labell, we do a lot of impulse buying when we are at the stores, well I do anyway, obviously you don't Judy. Everything I buy seems to be heavy lately, I get 2 kg kitty litter cos that's about all I can lift, but it costs you about double of buying it in larger bags, so am gonna order 10kg, then I go through a heap of 2 litre bottles of pepsi max, 2 litre bottles of milk and that's before you start. I haven't got to the delivery price yet, but I think it is around the $10 here too, plus I have a concession card.

I always do my shopping at the supermarket but would definately be willing to try the online thing! :woohoo

What is a concession card?:think

It's a card we get off the government if we are on any sort of pension, it entitles you to cheaper public transport, free health, dental and cheaper medicines - but that was the wrong card anyway :hahahaha my son works at Target and gets a family card which gives a discount at a number of stores.

In America they call it welfare and people on a pension DO NOT get it. Only people that dont work and cant get a job or choose to have 10 thousand kids and make all the hard working people pay for them to eat good and get expensive cars! :ohboy:ohboy

:hahahaha

Actually I was right the first time, I shouldn't answer posts in the middle of the night...hehehe you get a cheaper delivery fee with the concession card. :comp

I do shopping online but not food lol. jc penneys, sears, sephors stuff like that. I only do it cuz i have cards to them but no cash ugh! Ummm
sorcer hon..whats a fortnight? It sounds like language from the 1700s or something..i like it lol.

The weight of the items makes a huge difference when I'd order. It was so wonderful having their delivery driver carry everything in and put it in the kitchen for me!! Even in bad snow storms they'd come, sometimes took him all day, but he'd make it! What a great deal it was in my opinion, and if you're saving by buying the larger boxes and bags, that will pay for the ten dollars!!

I didn't realize you have Targets there... and We have a card similar to yours for our retired people, our state calls it the Golden Buckeye card... and we get all kind of discounts with it.

and no we don't generally use the word fortnight... but I knew it meant two weeks....

Yes labell, we have Target, Kmart, Safeway - no Walmart. Funny I never picked up that you don't use the word fortnight, what do you say bi-weekly or just 2 weeks?

I just say every two weeks... or "we get paid bi-weekly"

Love our Kmart, right near our house easy in and easy out. Target is great too but farther away so I don't bother to go too often. Walmart is so huge I seldom shop there lol... Very nice to have the choice though.
