The Congress of Kentucky could evaluate the legalisation of Sports Betting operations after federal resolution.

US.- As the US Supreme Court will determine soon the future of the Sports Betting industry, states’ authorities are evaluating the potential options to explode the market.
Under this discussion, the Congress of Kentucky could hold several meetings to decide whether to approve Sports Betting operatios or not.

Last week, Kentucky senator Julian Carroll presented a project to regulate Sports Betting platforms in the state.
The bill could be taken into account by local legislators once the Supreme Court publishes its final resolution related to the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA).

“When the (state financial advisors) PFM Group made their recommendations to cut pensions it was my mission to find a new source of revenue for the ailing systems,”
Carroll told the Legislative Research Commission in September. “The state has a moral and legal obligation to fund state pensions.
Reducing the benefits of thousands of hard-working public servants is not an option.”

Under current legislation, Sports Betting is banned federalwide, except in four states: Nevada, Oregon, Delaware and Montana,
as all four of those states were offering some variation of sports lotteries back in 1992, when PASPA was approved.
