We used to drive around the cabot trail here in cape breton , Nova Scotia every couple of months..its a beautiful road trail around mountains and cliffs and views of the ocean and coast line. The price of gas here is roughly 5 dollars(probably more) per gallon..(1.34 a liter) . We haven't made that trip in over a year. We also use to go to the casino here at home once every weekend...now that smoking is outlawed we haven't been there in 6 or 7 months. When we are in New Jersey we go to Atlantic City often..but after oct. I doubt we will go near as often. I can sit here at my computer, smoke drink , wear clothing or not..lol and gamble. Usually with better results then any land based casino I have ever been to. By that I mean longer playing time on less money. The econmy and politics are pushing us to stay at home and find other ways of entertainment... I guess places like Atlantic City and Las Vegas had better find some really really good ways to draw us to them now.

Gas AND Gamble...

Hey, I've got to fill my tank somehow. So I think I'll double up on the gambling, and maybe I come out ahead. The price of oil is artificially high, and with our leaders pretending to be powerless to do anything about it, the oil barons will continue to steal from our country.

Home heating oil is so expensive right now ,I have heard that some people have sent there kids to relatives because they couldn't afford to heat there home during this past winter. I myself spent 600 dolars more this winter than last. I was telling my wife the other day that I would love to move back into the city and buy a bike to go back and forth to work on. I love how our political leaders nod there heads up and down in some mock understanding way..then do nothing.

My boyfriend and I live in a rural town and have to travel at least 12 miles or more to get to work, to grocery store, etc.... So a bike and carpooling is not an option for us. So we (mainly him because he's the car owner and the driver) have to suffer, I guess.:(

Yep unfortunatly for those of us who live in small communites, in the country or have strange work hours, car pooling is not an option.
I thought about getting my motorcycle license but it rains all the time so that defeats the purpose

My boyfriend works 3rd shifts at John Deere in East Moline (about 20 miles or more away from Park View-Eldridge). He spends about $70 to fill up almost weekly!! When will it end??!!!
