Default Harrow based Ladbrokes plans over 30,000 live sporting events

British online and land-based betting giant Ladbrokes has launched a new version of its online sportsbook and announced plans to stream over 30,000 live sporting events through it over 2010.

Harrow-based Ladbrokes revealed that it has invested over three million pounds in securing Internet broadcast rights for a range of sports that, with the exception of horseracing, will be free to view for registered customers at Ladbrokes.com

The new site focuses heavily on in-play betting with a dedicated module on its homepage featuring current betting events alongside links to the Ladbrokes TV live streaming service. Customers accessing the horseracing coverage must place a minimum bet amounting to one pound in order to access the service.

Ladbrokes stated that it would be covering top flight soccer from eleven nations including Italy, Portugal and Brazil alongside FA Cup matches, international football games and UEFA Champions League qualifiers. In addition to football, live sports coverage will extend to tennis with Wimbledon and Australian Open events as well as cricket with live pictures of the Australian Twenty20 league. There are also plans to include sports such as snooker, darts, basketball, volleyball and pool in its coverage.

“The new site further reflects the growing importance of betting in-play and live video streaming content,” said John O'Reilly, Managing Director Of Remote Betting And Gaming for Ladbrokes.

“This initiative, together with further development of our mobile offering and the development of new markets in Europe, will continue the growth of our sportsbook.”

Ladbrokes also revealed the launch of an Italian poker service at Ladbrokes.it offering the site’s 35,000 players a range of Texas Holdem Tournaments. It stated that there were plans to premiere cash games on the site as soon as local regulations allow.
