NEVADA – ASSEMBLY BILL 114-presented before the Nevada Assembly on Wednesday removes the final restrictions preventing the arrival of interactive gaming in the Silver State.
Governor Sandoval urged lawmakers to pass a bill that could expand the state’s online gaming nationwide, ahead of New Jersey!
The race is on to become the first US state to pioneer internet gambling and position itself at the forefront of a market expected to reach $10bn a year by 2017.
The Nevada bill would also enable companies offering internet gambling services to gain a first-mover advantage on out-of-state customers.
A number of states have been looking to introduce changes to gaming legislation in order to snap up a chunk of the market.

The bill would allow wagers to be accepted across state lines and importantly eliminate a provision from last session’s bill that requires Nevada to wait for federal legislation.
It also specifies companies that illegally operated online casinos in the US prior to 2006 be prohibited from obtaining a Nevada license for 10 years, which takes out many of the big fish companies & leaves room
for the smaller more trustworthy gaming establishments.

Delaware is the only US state to have passed full online gaming legislation with Nevada and New Jersey engaged in fierce battle to become the nation’s leader of interactive gambling regulation.
Nevada legalized online poker at the end of 2011 and started issuing licenses, but the new bill would permit all forms of internet gambling.
