The rain does not stop

We are in a state of emergency in Binghamton New York. The rain is coming down in buckets! People in the lower areas have been evacuated,schools are closed tomorrow and a good share of businesses are closing.They have called in the National guard.They don't expect the rain to stop until late Thursday early Friday.

This is a nail biting situation! Floods scare the hell out of me!

Oh damn Cas thats horrible!! I am also in NY and its raining nonstop here as well but I am not in a flood zone thank god! I will keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers!! ​

Yes, keep safe cas, they are scary things, I will never forget when the town my son lives in flooded and we went up a few weeks later and they showed us a house that had been in the process of being restumped and had been swept away by the floods and was sitting on someones property. It sure was a strange sight. Just found a pic of another one underwater from then, not sure if it was that same house floating downstream

Yeah the weather is crazy all over, I think I saw bushfires on the news for the US does that sound right?

Yes in Texas!! Its so bad and so out of control! Many are losing their homes, its a horrible thing and is not getting any better, the fires keep spreading!​

and the feds - forest department - had cancelled the contract with the outside firefighting company so there are 50 helicopters sitting in California that could have been putting out the fire! Plus firefighters from all over the state poured in to help, and they sent the volunteers HOME... the feds are really out of control over here...

Well I hope we are sending some firefighters over to help, I know you sent some over to us when we had our bad fires. We rely on our volunteers here, I can't understand why they would be sending yours home, that's really poor.

yep, bad planning and bad communication... but hopefully they'll get it fixed asap and it will be over!
