Default Senator Encourages Support For Online Casinos on Facebook

New Jersey Senator Raymond Lesniak has launched a new campaign aimed at getting fans of online casinos and gambling to register their support on social networking website Facebook.

The popular Democrat recently introduced new legislation in the state which would allow residents to play table games such as poker, blackjack and baccarat online at 4NJBets.com and also sponsored a separate bill to encourage a vote to amend the current constitution in a bid to allow sportsbetting in Atlantic City casinos.

State Senator Lesniak is hoping that his Facebook petition will gather enough support to show Capitol Hill that the existing Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992, which prohibits sportsbetting in all but a handful of US states, is outdated and that the current generation of New Jersey residents wants the restrictions lifted.

Senator Lesniak has stated that he wants as many people to sign up to the page – which can be viewed at OK to Play: Support i-Gaming | Facebook – as possible and that he would consider gaining 200,000 supporters a great achievement.

“The PASPA banned all sportsbetting except in the states of Nevada, Delaware, Oregon and Montana,” read a statement issued by Senator Lesniak. “As a result, if you went to Atlantic City on Super Bowl Sunday, you would have seen a ghost town while Las Vegas hotels were at 100 percent capacity”.

“We dropped the ball when given a chance in 1992. Let's not fumble again.” He concluded.
