Phil went to the doctor today and he came home without the trach. He said it should heal within a week. He told Phil he would need to kind of push against the bandage to be able to talk and Phil did it a few times and now he is talking without having to do that. The doc put a camera down and looked at both sides of his lungs and he was amazed at how well they look.
