Ugh!! This snow!!

It cooled off quite a bit here in Los Angeles. I got a good amount of snow last weekend just up the street from me. O.K., more like 15 minutes up the mountain but it is cooler. Also, grrrrrr to the postal service, where is my check? I want to go to Vegas. Seriously, driving me nuts as I check every time I hear something like the mailman.

That's a major impetus to going besides the obvious plus the bathrooms at the Venetian are the size of my apartment. The weird thing about Vegas is that the alcohol selection isn't great unless you like Heineken, Corona and Bud though some of the restaurants will have excellent wine lists. Not sure if I will head out tomorrow or not, I have a feeling the bank will put a hold on the check even if it comes. The Venetian said they will give me a casino rate of 129 but it goes up to 189 on weekends. They said they would look at my game play at the end of my stay to see if they will comp me. Never had a casino actually do that for me but I did get offers for free rooms before getting there. Well, I have showed up at what was called the Imperial Palace and asked for a free room and got it. However, I'm not sure I can right now and I have no desire to stay anyplace less than 5 star given current prices and budget. The only reason I stayed there was my neighbor who I went with had a few friends who worked there. Harrah's or now Caesars is cheap with comps, especially Pai Gow. The Imperial Palace's buffet is probably the most disgusting buffet I have eaten at since college dorms. I would be silly to stay there and then walk over to the Venetian for my meals plus the bathroom situation. Food, drink and gambling but nothing adult beyond that. Ewwwww, germs.
Ugh, it almost too warm today again. I would make a comment about going postal on the post office but that might offend somebody. Instead, I would like to advocate a higher budget, more money and lots of hugs for the USPS. They deserve it for not delivering my mail.
O.K., let's think this through. A hold was put on my mail, and not by me, then a form was sent in to take the hold off. No mail comes afterward so likely result is that A. the hold was taken off and everybody who sent me mail lied or B. the hold wasn't taken off and it was being sent back by the sorting machine. I can't figure it out myself too hard of a question..... The post man actually tried to argue A to me. Yes, everybody was lying about sending me mail and they aren't going to anything about it. I was told I had to figure it out.

UPS saved the day!!!! Er week!! Well, it took 12 days for the check to go about 50 miles. Countdown to Las Vegas!!! LOL, I'll go Saturday or Sunday. The former most likely but don't want to pay too much for the room. Also, might go to Phoenix for spring training game but probably not as my friend wants to go sometime this spring so I might wait for him. There is a big convention during this week so it wouldn't have worked out plus stuff came up so I can't leave until Saturday. Right now, I'll probably stay at Venetian as 2 nights will be 1 at 189 and the second 129. Other options include Octavius rooms at Caesar's but maybe PH, Cosmo is a bit more for the room I want, Wynncore maybe too much, as in stuffy, and kind of out of the way. Of the MGM properties, City Center, Mandalay Bay and Possibly the MGM itself are possibilities. Unfortunately, the room matters as I can't party like I used to. In fact, I go to sleep by 10 most nights so I want something nice to relax plus be fancier than my own house. This time year pools aren't important but food is as that's a good reason to go. I'll post a trip report with pictures when I get back. GLGLGL to everyone.

Talk about bad luck, later that evening after writing I was going I developed an eye issue. I waited to make reservations and so forth until it cleared but it didn't so I didn't go. Went to a local card club here in LA as a consolation and was saved by the person next to me a few times from making huge mistakes as I couldn't see well. Eye problems can be symptoms of serious health issues but hopefully I just have a bad contact lens. I think it's the latter as I don't really have problem without them in. The trip will have to wait until this is cleared up as I can't really drive or function well without them. Oh god, I look dorky in glasses.
I'm still traumatized from my youth. Think I may look into eye surgery if it is the contacts.
