I don't know if very many people have ever heard of it.
I make ham gravy when we have ham, like yesterday.
It may sound wierd but, it is soooo good on mashed potatoes.
A little salty, a little sweet.
This only works if you put pineapple on your ham.
Take the drippings, as much as you can get anyway. We never get alot.
Bring to a boil on the stove.
add about 4 tablespoons of brown sugar
add any remaining juice from the pineapple can.
in a rather large cup, mix 1- 1 and 1/2 cups of water with 4 tablespoons of cornstarch until well blended.
Poor this into the ham juices and stir until it thickens.
It is soooo good.
I am not a big ham eater, but, I LOVE ham gravy!!!
